This article is strict observation of my thoughts, not representing anyone. In India every festival interconnect ever religion people. My focus is on peace . Follow path as my Guru Nanak define .
Yesterday is the day of festival called Diwali. I used to celebrate that when I was child. I don’t know with the growing age I lost that spirit, that joy, innocence. I m feeling down , what happen to me?? Where that joy gone .
In India we mix religion with festivals. Sikh, Hindu should know about history of there festivals . But many people say this not our festival, why we celebrate??
That’s all bullshit. Most of this viral spread from social networks. Like I see many post on Facebook and on Twitter. You can randomly search on google.
This quote (Shabad) is in Sikh holy book( Shri Guru Granth Sahib)-
“Diwali Di Raat, Deeve Baliyan, Jaage Sant Jana, Mere Ram Pyaare”
I think it defines that on the night of Diwali we all light up Deevas. The lightening of lamps is a way of paying a gesture expressing deferential respect, such as a bow or Curt’s to god for attainment of peace, love, wealth, health and knowledge.
Diwali is most important. Diwali is the time for everyone to rejoice looking forward to a bright future.
Very enthusiastically enjoyed by people of every religion, it’s magical and radiant touch creates an atmosphere of joy and festivity. Diwali, festival of lights, symbolizes the victory of right over wrong and lifting of spiritual darkness.
Nirvana is not the blowing out of the candle. It is the extinguishing of the flame because day is come. ~ Rabindranath Tagore
The above lines of Shri Rabindranath Tagore – means For love is the ultimate meaning of everything around us. It is not a mere sentiment; it is truth; it is the joy that is at the root of all creation. ” – Sadhana: The Realisation of Life (1913)
I knew Diwali is a Hindu festival, but I get joy of celebrating it . I want celebrate every year & pass it on to my generations . That’s my wish .
People come to Sikh temple of every religion. In langar every person irrespective of caste , religion, status sits together & eat Gods langar. Eating langar – is started by my first Guru – Guru Nanak Dev ji.
In India on auspicious occasion of Guru Nanak Dev ji birthday celebrate by everyone. It’s a national holiday.
So please celebrate Diwali regardless of caste, religion. Just be happy.
Diwali is about setting goals, not accumulating gold. As Lakshmi comes from Lakshya, meaning Goal. Tapan Ghosh
